James Thompson is senior vice president, division manager, Asia-Pacific. He is based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

As division manager, Thompson is responsible for operations and strategic direction across the Asia-Pacific region, including underwriting, client service and engineering.

Prior to this appointment, Thompson held numerous sales, underwriting and engineering leadership roles at ·´˛îć», including vice president, global sales, Asia-Pacific; vice president, manager of underwriting and global services, Asia-Pacific; and division underwriting manager for the broader territory of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Earlier roles at ·´˛îć» include client service manager for ·´˛îć»’s Australia operations in Melbourne and manager of engineering of natural hazards for the staff engineering group in Johnston, Rhode Island, USA. Thompson joined ·´˛îć» in 1993 as a field engineer.

Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in environmental engineering, both from the University of Melbourne. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
